Day 16

Day 16- paddled with my friend Wendy Hartman. It was her first official paddle. She tried it briefly last year, but the weather did not cooperate. Tonight was perfect, there wasn't even a lot of wind. We really didn't have any times where the wind made it hard to paddle. We paddled the y, but made it a little short of 3 miles . Wendy did an awesome job! She is a natural. She also donated to Operation Giveback and challenged anyone that rides to donate to OG as well. Thanks for your support Wendy!!

Day 15

Day 15- I don't want to be unappreciative to my home lake ,Greenwood Lake (Sun Lake), but I loved Lake Brantley. It is bigger, better traveled, and has beautiful houses to admire. I'm pretty sure I would choose Lake Brantley every time. Thanks to Shayne for inviting me. :) Here's a short video of the trip! :)

Day 14

Day 14- Today was the best paddle yet! We paddled in the Intercoastal in New Smyrna Beach. I did 2 trips with Chuck for a total of about 5 miles. I forgot to track the first trip. I started the second trip, heard it go past the two miles, but then forgot to turn it off until we drove off. So, my estimate is that each trip was about 2 1/2 miles. The day started gloomy and overcast. We really thought we wouldn't be able to go, but it wasn't raining, so we went for it. It was SUPtacular! We paddled from the creek into the intercoastal and immediately saw dolphins. Check out my video. It was so awesome and they were so close. My video is a little shaky, because once again, I was trying to hold my phone and paddle with one hand. BUT, you can definitely see them. It was a great day!

Day 12

Day 12- Paddled 2 miles today. Paddled until I heard Runtastic say, you have reached 1 mile. Then I turned around. I'm working with Chuck this weekend in NSB. Weather permitting, I should have some good mileage this weekend. Sunday, the end of my first 2 weeks, I will make a tally of how far I have paddled so far.

Day 11

Day 11- beat the rain tonight. Drizzled a few times, but made it the whole way . Almost 3 miles again. Going to have to do a few circles around the pond next time to complete my miles. Took some video but it was super windy. It was not the best video. Excited tonight and wanted to thank Mark Albers of SUP life for pledging one dollar per mile to benefit Operation Giveback. Awesome!!

Day 10

Day 10- I love company! Thanks Shayne for paddling with me again! Pretty soon you'll be doing 100 days too. We almost made the 3 miles, but we were having too much fun doing yoga! :)Loving my Rhizotomy board!

Day 9

Day 9- Long day at work today, so I paddled into the moonlight. :)

Day 8

Day 8- Super excited today. I arrived home from work to find this beautiful board at my door. I love it!
Not only is it a combination of Kylie's and my favorite colors (purple and green) ,
but it rides so well! It glided right through the water and the pad is actually comfortable to my feet. My previous board hurt my feet, because the pad had ridges. It is a little smaller than my last board, if you can believe that. My previous board was 12', this one is 11' 4" and much lighter!
AND after 50 days in the lake, people were noticing the board from their balcony and asking me about it. Thank you so much to Rhizotomy Paddleboards for their support of my hundred day paddle. I appreciate your faith in me, and giving me the privilege of trying out your board.

Day 7

Day 7- Loved our day on the River. It was nice and calm, most of the time. I did have a small incident with a boat. :)

Day 6

Paddled Greenwood Lake today. We scoped out a few different future locations. It was super windy. One of those days were if you are not constantly paddling, you go backwards. Excited about paddling the Wekiva River tomorrow. I am definitely going to be racking up the mileage !

Day 5

Day 5- Today I paddled with my daughter Kylie and her friend Kayla. This clip is them interviewing me for a special report for their news show at school. It was super windy on the lake, check out the water behind us. Kylie has paddled before, but it was Kayla's first time. They did a great job battling the wind.

Day 4

Day 4- I paddled Sun Lake with my intern Shayne. We started out in the rain and kept an eye out for ugly weather. The sky looked like it was brightening, so we stuck with it. It was worth it! It was a great paddle, nice and relaxing, as you may notice from how long it took us to get the 3 miles. :) I guess I need to work on my speed.

Day 3

Day 3- the sky was overcast . I was convinced it would rain any minute, but it held out. I was able to get in my full 3 miles. The lake was choppy, but there was a great breeze. Chuck paddled with me and took a few cool shots. Looking forward to the weekend, so I can venture out a little further from home.

Day 2

Day 2- We are so blessed to have this beautiful weather in Florida! What a relaxing way to end the day, paddleboarding into the sun. :) It is a great place to pull your thoughts together and contemplate the day. It's always nice to have company, though.

Day 1- April 1st

Day 1- I am excited to start my second 100 day paddleboard journey. For my first paddle, I decided to start out at Sun Lake, since it was my most reliable location last year. I hope to paddle many different places with many different people. This year , my goal is to paddle at least 300 miles, meaning an average of 3 miles a day. I was introduced to a cool new Ap called Runtastic that has a Standup Paddleboarding option. It will help me keep track of my mileage, time, and even calories burned per trip. My goal is to paddle to earn money for Operation Giveback. I am excited to already have a few sponsors that have committed to donating money towards this great cause. Thank you to Central Florida Paddleboarding (http://centralfloridapaddleboarding.com/wp/), Rhizotomy Paddleboards (http://www.rhizotomysurf.com/), and SUPlife(http://www.mysuplife.com/) . I can't wait to see where this adventure will take me. :)
