Another year, another paddle, but this year it's a little different. I want my paddle to make a difference not only to me, but to others. This year, my goal is to paddle 3 miles a day for 100 days. For each mile I paddle, I will be raising money for Operation Giveback. I am thankful for the commitment and sacrifice that military men and women give. Having family members and friends in the military, I wanted to show them my appreciation by giving back a little their way.

Day 16
Day 16- paddled with my friend Wendy Hartman. It was her first official paddle. She tried it briefly last year, but the weather did not cooperate. Tonight was perfect, there wasn't even a lot of wind. We really didn't have any times where the wind made it hard to paddle. We paddled the y, but made it a little short of 3 miles . Wendy did an awesome job! She is a natural. She also donated to Operation Giveback and challenged anyone that rides to donate to OG as well. Thanks for your support Wendy!!

Day 12
Day 12- Paddled 2 miles today. Paddled until I heard Runtastic say, you have reached 1 mile. Then I turned around. I'm working with Chuck this weekend in NSB. Weather permitting, I should have some good mileage this weekend. Sunday, the end of my first 2 weeks, I will make a tally of how far I have paddled so far.

Day 11
Day 11- beat the rain tonight. Drizzled a few times, but made it the whole way . Almost 3 miles again. Going to have to do a few circles around the pond next time to complete my miles. Took some video but it was super windy. It was not the best video. Excited tonight and wanted to thank Mark Albers of SUP life for pledging one dollar per mile to benefit Operation Giveback. Awesome!!

Day 8
Day 8- Super excited today. I arrived home from work to find this beautiful board at my door. I love it!
Not only is it a combination of Kylie's and my favorite colors (purple and green) ,
but it rides so well! It glided right through the water and the pad is actually comfortable to my feet. My previous board hurt my feet, because the pad had ridges. It is a little smaller than my last board, if you can believe that. My previous board was 12', this one is 11' 4" and much lighter!

Day 6
Paddled Greenwood Lake today. We scoped out a few different future locations. It was super windy. One of those days were if you are not constantly paddling, you go backwards. Excited about paddling the Wekiva River tomorrow. I am definitely going to be racking up the mileage !

Day 3
Day 3- the sky was overcast . I was convinced it would rain any minute, but it held out. I was able to get in my full 3 miles. The lake was choppy, but there was a great breeze. Chuck paddled with me and took a few cool shots. Looking forward to the weekend, so I can venture out a little further from home.

Day 2

Day 1- April 1st
Day 1- I am excited to start my second 100 day paddleboard journey. For my first paddle, I decided to start out at Sun Lake, since it was my most reliable location last year. I hope to paddle many different places with many different people. This year , my goal is to paddle at least 300 miles, meaning an average of 3 miles a day. I was introduced to a cool new Ap called Runtastic that has a Standup Paddleboarding option. It will help me keep track of my mileage, time, and even calories burned per trip. My goal is to paddle to earn money for Operation Giveback. I am excited to already have a few sponsors that have committed to donating money towards this great cause. Thank you to Central Florida Paddleboarding (http://centralfloridapaddleboarding.com/wp/), Rhizotomy Paddleboards (http://www.rhizotomysurf.com/), and SUPlife(http://www.mysuplife.com/) . I can't wait to see where this adventure will take me. :)
